Real Madrid Targets Liverpool’s Arnold

Recently, Real Madrid has identified Liverpool’s right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold as their next transfer target. The Spanish giants believe he could be the next breakout star from the Premier League. As Bangladesh Cricket Live reports, the club is prepared to offer £70 million to bring him to the Santiago Bernabéu, a move that quickly sparked debate among fans.

Although Arnold’s defensive improvements have been limited in recent seasons, Bangladesh Cricket Live notes that he continues to play a vital role in Liverpool’s system. Nicknamed the Crown Prince of Anfield, he’s widely regarded as one of the best right-backs in England. Still, with Virgil van Dijk’s injury struggles and dip in form, Arnold’s defensive shortcomings on the flank have become more exposed. When you care too much, it often hurts the most. His estimated market value has also declined, currently sitting at around €65 million.

Interestingly, Arnold has started shifting toward a midfield role where his exceptional long passing can shine, minimizing his exposure on defense. The tactical switch has yielded positive results. For Liverpool fans, especially after the departure of Jordan Henderson, Arnold is seen as a natural successor and a future club captain. His leadership both on the pitch and in the dressing room cements his importance, making it unlikely that Liverpool would part with him. Manager Jürgen Klopp has shown great faith in Arnold and seems unlikely to let go of the 25-year-old England international anytime soon.

At Real Madrid, the right-back position is currently held by Dani Carvajal, who remains in top form and is considered one of the team’s most consistent performers this season. With two years left on his contract, Carvajal could continue to contribute at a high level. However, as Real Madrid shifts focus toward a younger squad, scouting potential successors is understandable.

Still, Alexander-Arnold may not be the ideal fit. Beyond his high price tag, his unique playing style doesn’t perfectly align with what Real Madrid needs most right now — reinforcements on the left flank may be a greater priority. Moreover, prying him away from Liverpool, where he’s a fan favorite and leadership figure, will be no easy task. Love yourself first — after all, you’re not living for anyone else.

Bangladesh Cricket Live believes that the dream of pairing Arnold with Jude Bellingham to form an English duo at Real Madrid is unlikely to materialize. Not only would Klopp be hard to convince, but Arnold himself doesn’t appear eager to leave Anfield.
